Torque Ratchet
A hinge ratchet is a surgical instrument that is used to insert an implant in the dental cavity, with precise torque. Hence, it is also commonly called the torque ratchet. This torque is measured by the dental surgeon with the implant wrench in order to determine if the implant can be inserted right away or the jaw bone requires certain healing time after preparatory surgeries. The implant hinge functions like a spanner when an implant is being screwed into the bone jaw. Hence, the implant wrench is one of the surgical instruments that are used by the dental surgeon to fix an implant in the jaw. The torque ratchet also helps the dental surgeon estimate if the implant can be immediately with an artificial tooth or not. This is called immediate loading. Like all other dental instruments, the torque ratchet needs to be sterilized properly, prior to usage. The surgical instruments used in a dental surgery are placed in the sterilization box and sterilized before the surgery can be performed. Watch the video to see how a hinge ratchet looks and how it is being used by the dental surgeon during implantation procedures. Here you can see LIVE OPERATION Implantation using a Torque.
