Tooth Model
A teeth model is often made in wax and is also known as a wax model and is an important component in restorative dentistry. A wax model is a significant step in the production of dentures. In this initial step, the technician retains the teeth in the prosthesis base using wax, which is called as dental wax or impression wax. This step is thereby known as the wax set-up. The prosthesis or artificial teeth model is later inserted into the patient’s mouth in order to improve function (such as chewing), location, and phonetics and last but not the least aesthetics. While using a wax model as a teeth model, the teeth can still be changed easily since they have only been retained in wax and this is done as many times as necessary or till the time, the patient is absolutely comfortable with his new artificial teeth model. This wax up is usually performed before a veneer treatment. The prosthesis or artificial teeth model is only finalised when everything fits together perfectly. Post this, the teeth position is transmitted from the wax model to the actual prosthesis one to one. The video elaborates, how a teeth model or wax model is used for the manufacture of dental prosthesis.
