Gingiva Former
The gingiva former, also called gum former or sulcus former, helps in the shaping of gums while they heal after a successful implantation. The profile of the gums surrounding the tooth, thus the forming of the gum papilla, is not genetically predetermined but arises out of the emergence profile of the tooth or from the gingiva former. The gums grow according to the structure of the gum former, which is why gum formers exist in numerous forms and shapes. So, the gingiva former enables different gum modeling options. The interaction of teeth and gums is called red-white aesthetics and is usually determined by the dentist after an implantation. Together with the tooth crown, well-healed and shaped gums are very important for an optimal red-white aesthetic. Watch the video above to see the gum former in action.
