Dental Prosthesis Lining
The term lining in dental jargon refers to the lining of the dental prosthesis. The human body is very economical in nature as any body part such as the muscle, nerves or even bone which is not used is reduced or even removed. For instance, in retirement homes- as there is usually not much of metal simulation and workouts, the brain mass is automatically condensed. Similarly, body builders must regularly workout so that they do not lose their muscle mass. Similarly, if the jaw is used sparsely or not used at all, the body begins to decrease it. The jaw bone is responsible for the chewing pressure and if it is not initiated through the jaw bone, the jaw bone regression begins. If this is allowed for a significant long period of time, it could result to the loss of the complete jaw bone. After considerable bone regression of the jaw bones, dentures cease to fit properly and pressure marks tend to be formed. A lining of the dental prosthesis is the answer in such cases.
