Bone Condenser
The bone condenser or bone compressor is a surgical instrument used in implantology. Implants should always be screwed in the jaw joint with certain torsion. A high torsion may cause implant break, while a low torsion slows down the healing process of the wound. Bone compression improves the stability of the implants on the bone. This means shorter healing time or no healing period at all. With the aid of a bone condenser the dental surgeon is able to prepare the tooth appropriately and thus influence the result of the dental implantology. Like every surgical instrument, the bone condenser has to be stored in a sterile environment, to ensure that the dental wound doesn't get infected with bacteria & germs. Watch the video above to see this dental instrument in action.
