Worn surface enamel on teeth

My dentist says that the enamel on my teeth has been worn down quite badly. She seems to think that this is from using too hard of a toothbrush and/or from brushing too vigorously. She did a filling on one tooth near the gumline to repair badly worn enamel. Aside from brushing with a softer brush with less pressure, is there anything that can reverse or repair enamel wear on teeth?

Hello Goldmj,

Unfortunately, there are no ways to regenerate tooth enamel but you can resurface enamel thru the use of veneers, crowns and porcelain overlays.

There are also products which you can get from your dentist to help harden tooth enamel and prevent teeth from acid erosion.

Hi!

You can use an over-the-counter enamel-restoring mouthwash to supplement your teeth with fluoride and other minerals needed.
