Wisdom tooth

I have been suffering from intermittent pain in my left upper wisdom tooth for a long time. After visiting my dentist, he told me that the tooth would have to be extracted, and I felt very afraid. But now the whole affair is slowly turning into a nightmare. Every day, I take at least 2-4 pain killers. I can’t function otherwise. Now I have finally made up my mind to visit the dentist. The wisdom tooth has already completely erupted.

Now my question: How much time does such treatment require and how much pain will there be afterwards? Is it possible to eat after one day or does it mean soup and bread for the next four weeks? Will the dentist close the hole up afterwards?

Hi Checkdent,

I have a dentist appointment in four days for the removal of my wisdom tooth. How long does it take to fully heal after the extraction? Thanks.

Hi there!

The swelling can keep increasing until day 3, thereafter it should subside. Usually the stitches are removed after 1 week, and that should be the end of your nightmare!

All the best!
