What happens during oral surgery?

Greetings Checkdent!

I went to the dentist to have two of my molars pulled out. He was able to take the first molar out but it took him time and he exerted a lot of effort. He can't pull the other one because it would not come out so he cracked it leaving the root in. He said I need an oral surgery to completely take the tooth out. What will be done during the surgery? Please share your experiences. I am nervous about it. Thanks a lot.

It is simple, you do not have to be nervous.:-) They will numb your face. They will make a small cut in the gum then they will take the roots out. They put a stitch in and you are done.

Good luck!

Hello Openplace!

Just be relaxed about it. The anesthesia will take care of everything so pain should not a problem. You will be done in a few minutes.

Hello!

I have had two oral surgeries done. I was asleep during the first one and I was awake during the second time. You will not feel any pain, you can only feel them working. They will cut a little hole around the tooth, pull the tooth out then have some stitches on. It's pretty simple. After the procedure your mouth will be sore for a few days but it will go away.
