Upper molar extraction

Hello everyone,

I had my upper molar pulled two days ago. It was a semi difficult extraction. It was broken almost to the gum line. I still have some swelling around the socket and in my face. Today, as I drink
water, I feel liquid in my sinus. My mom said, there might be an opening left from the extraction
socket to my sinus. It happened to her when she had a tooth extracted. Please help! I am so nervous about it. I already booked an appointment with my dentist but I still want some help from here.

Thank you in advance.

Hello!

The swelling will eventually subside. As for the tooth/sinus connection, go to your dentist to have this repaired. Do not panic, the dentist can put a packing to help close the hole.

Hi Cecile,

The opening to the sinus cavity can be repaired. The dentist can re-close the area. This should be attended to as soon as possible to prevent a sinus infection.
