Translucent teeth

Hi,

Recently, I noticed that the tips of both my top and bottom front teeth seem translucent. They look very weak and may chip off anytime. The bottom of my front lower teeth look a bit gray. The dentist said this is normal and nothing can be done about it. However I know my teeth weren't like this before. Does anyone know what is the cause of this? Is there any way to fix this? Please help me out with suggestions! Thanks!

Hello there. Your description sounds like you have normal teeth like your dentist said. You enamel thickness may be thin and that gives translucent appearance. My front teeth also resemble a similar appearance. Unfortunately once our enamel is made we cannot remake it. It may also be to wear due to highly acidic food consumption that wears away tooth enamel.
