my daughter has a filling in her back molar, i was flossing her teeth and noticed that a little piece of her tooth crumbled off of the gums, what will happen now? does she need a new filling? ANd is it possible that this happend from her grinding her teeth at night?

Was it a large filling? Getting a large filling means the remaining tooth is already thin, weak and brittle. The tooth should be crowned to make it stronger.

Hello!

If the filled tooth is not completely broken down, it may be possible to build it up again using another filling. It should be looked at by a dentist as soon as possible because more pieces of the tooth could come off and it could get too badly damaged to be repaired.
