Tooth Broke After Veneers

I had veneers put on my upper front teeth 3 weeks ago and last night I lose the center of one of these teeth,it just broke off as I was eating

I had a previous filling at the gumline on the tooth that broke (and was veneered)

I am leaving on a 3 week trip next Wednesday and plan to see my dentist on Monday.

What can the dentist do in such a short time to fix this tooth?

Is it possible to do a full restorative before I leave or something temp?

I can clearly see down the center of the tooth to the canal and only the outer portion of the tooth remains at the gumline

Needless to say Iam quite upset at having the cost of veneers done, only to loose at tooth!

The root was dead. This was not a good tooth to put a veneer on.

The dentist needs to do a root canal, then a cast post. In my office, this can be done in two or three days. Once the cast post is cemented, he can do a crown preparation and place a temporary, so you will look beautiful on your trip. Then when you return, your new crown will be ready to cement.

I strongly advise against a prefabricated post, which is what most dentists want to use!

hello

my dentist only cemented the tooth to the teeth on either side as a temporary fix.Luckily it lasted the 3 weeks I was away.Tuesday I go for impressions and a two tooth bridge will be put in.The cost of an implant here is $4000 and a bridge is $2000.After spending the money on my veneers,I have very little left and can only opt for the bridge

I don't understand. You lost the tooth that fractured? Why could it not be saved? I can almost always save fractured teeth. Even if a minor gum surgery had to be done, it would have been cheaper than a bridge.

An anterior bridge is a big mistake. Don't know what you mean be a "two tooth bridge." Bridges have at least one fake tooth (the pontic) anchored to teeth on either side. Which means two good teeth need to be cut down, and the smallest bridge is usually a 3-unit bridge. The nerves of the teeth often die and need root canals. Even if the color of the bridge matches the natural teeth perfectly, it won't in 10 years.

You are making a big mistake in having teeth cut down for a bridge, unless they already have root canals.
