Tongue Sore

Hi all,

Five days ago, I went to the dentist to have a cavity filled on a molar on the right side of my mouth. I told the dentist that I had bite pain on the left side of my mouth particularly on the lower left first molar. This tooth was filled with silver filling several years ago.

After he looked at it, he said the tooth should be crowned. While he was drilling the tooth, he accidentally hit my tongue with the drill. When the anesthesia wore off, I was in a lot of pain. It has been the fifth day since this had happened and I am still in so much pain. The painkillers are not helping much.

Has anyone had experienced this before? Please help! I have been rinsing with warm salt water but my tongue doesn’t seem to be healing. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
