Tips for brushing teeth when baby is having none of it?

My daughter is 16mths, she used to open her mouth so I could brush her teeth, no problem. But recently she wont let me anywhere near her with a toothbrush. She will take the toothbrush from me and sucks the toothpaste or water off, but she wont let me actually brush them. Im worried her teeth will rot!

We are visiting the dentist in nov, so I can ask her then, but in the meantime any tips would be appreciated!

Dear Christiand!

Sometimes you have to be tough but don’t worry, your kid will soon get used to the evening cleaning routine.

It’s important that you appear determined and that you show your child that there is no alternative to cleaning his/her teeth. When your child realises this he/she will soon comply ...

Don´t give her the tooth brush for playing, your daughter should learn, that this is a cleaning device and not a toy!

It isn’t always gonna be pleasant. We too had to learn that you can’t run a red light but in the long run it’s usually the unpleasant things that lead to progress in life. :-)

Liebe Grüße JB

Musical tooth brushes !!These new toothbrushes for kids from Arm & Hammer will encourage brushing without complaining. Why? Because the kids can brush to one of their favorite tunes that's playing right in their toothbrush for two minutes, the time dentists recommend for brushing.
