Tingling sensation on face after an extraction

I broke my upper molar a few months ago, but I neglected it and now it is giving me a problem. Last month, I was in so much pain and I went to the dentist immediately. He said, I was infected and he gave me antibiotics. After 10 days, I went back to him to get my tooth pulled. The anesthesia didn't take effect, the dentist said I still have an infection and he directed me to continue with the antibiotics. After 7 days, I went back to him but still, the tooth wouldn't numb, it hurt so bad when he attempted to pull it. He gave me a stronger dose of antibiotics.

The tooth was removed sucessfully three days ago. He sent me home with pain meds and antibiotics. Last night, I noticed that my gums were swollen. Now, there is a tingling sensation on the right side of my face. It is very sensitive to touch. I am so worried. Can anyone help me out, please?

Thank you very much!

Dear Jonalyn,

A nerve in your gum might have been irritated. The tingling sensation will eventually go away as the extraction hole heals up.

Hello Jonalyn!

It seems the nerve is beginning to recover from the latest work done and the tingling feeling will eventually go away. The pain should decrease as days go by. If it does not change after three days, have it checked by your dentist. I hope I helped.
