Swollen face and lip after filling a wisdom tooth

My three wisdom teeth were pulled a year ago. My wisdom tooth in the bottom left side came in fine so I kept it. Three months ago, the tooth had a small cavity and the dentist filled it in. A week after it was filled, my face and bottom lip both on the left side swelled.

I took Benadryl and the swelling went down. Last week, that side of my face and lip swelled up again for no reason. I again took Benadryl but this time it did not help much. Is this related to the filling I had? Please help me what to do.

An infection could be coming from the gums around the wisdom tooth, or the nerve could have died because of the filling. It was a mistake not to remove this wisdom tooth.
