Swollen and bleeding gums

Hi everyone!

For the past few months, my gums have been really swollen. When I brush my teeth, my gums bleed, I spit out pure blood. Sometimes they hurt a bit. I brush and floss twice a day. How can I get rid of the swollen gums?

Please, can someone give me some advice? I am really scared about this. Thanks a lot!

It sounds like you are suffering from gingivitis. This is due to poor oral hygiene. You should see a periodontist. You need professional help to treat this.

Dear Loveblonde,

Brush your teeth well especially on the affected area even if it bleeds. After that, rinse with warm salt water. Do this more often. It will help kill the germs and increase blood circulation in the gums.
