Strips have fallen out

Hello,

On Thursday, an inflammation of the gingival flap above my wisdom tooth was cauterized and two iodine stripes were subsequently placed into the wound with instructions to “come by immediately if they come undone.”

Yesterday I went for a checkup and one of the strips was slightly loose and was thus “pushed back” by my physician. She said it would be too painful to replace it completely without anesthesia and that it would probably not be necessary before Monday (the next appointment).

However, both strips have continued to dissolve or peel away and now protrude far outside the wound. When I tried to push them back gently, the wound began to bleed and one of the strips finally fell out.

Other than that, the wound is healing well (as far as I can tell). Aside from using the strips, I gurgle with Chlorhexamed and take antibiotics (Ospexin).

By now it has stopped bleeding. Do you think it’s necessary to consult a dental emergency service in order to replace/renew the strips or is Monday morning sufficient?
