Strange tooth pain

Back in July my ear started hurting and the doctors found nothing wrong all these times I went in for checkups. Recently i found it's coming from a back molar I have. The gums around the tooth are starting to swell along with a giant lump starting to form behind it causing the tooth to shift left. It's starting to bug me the way it's just swelling and causing my ear to hurt badly with this awful headache. I also wear a retainer, which is probably the cause since I never where it? Any help or advice would be lovely as my parents swear it's just my retainer and that's why my back molar is swelling and shifting weirdly.

It is unlikely that wearing a retainer would cause swelling. It is probably:

1. Lower wisdom tooth beginning to erupt, or
2. Abscessed molar.

Go to a good general dentist to find out which it is.

I'll add pericoronitis. If your back tooth is only half out of the gums, it is possibly that.

Maybe your wisdom tooth has come. It gives horrible gum pain and sometimes headache also. Concern your dentist if you have pain till now.
