Sore throat after dental cleaning

Two days ago, I had my first ever dental cleaning done. My gums were in bad state; they were inflamed. During the procedure, my gums were bleeding. Today, I started to have sore throat. Could this be related to the dental cleaning I had? Should I be taking antibiotics? Please help! Thank you in advance.

Probably just coincidental. Rinsing with an antibiotic mouthrinse like chlorhexidine would be more beneficial than taking pills that go all over your body and kill good bacteria.

Thanks! I also asked the hygienist about it and she said the cleaning I had could not be the reason for the sore throat. I have used chlorhexidine oral rinse before to treat mild gingivitis but I had allergic reaction to it.
