Something sticking out of my gum

For the past ~7 years I have had something inside my gum - on the inner side, between the 1st and 2nd premolar teeth. It's quite small, and only the tip can be seen on the surface. If I touch it with my tongue or apply pressure, I feel as if it is very easy to break off (like there is just a very thin connection to the actual teeth) or just move. However, all these years it has stayed in the same place, without any movements. It is slightly away from the teeth - about the size of my tongue tip.

In the meantime I've visited the dentist several times, but they didn't mention this. Neither did I, since it never actually bothered me - I thought it was natural. It even appeared quite suddenly, without any apparent reason. One moment I just started feeling something in the gum. It does not hurt and I have got used to the small sharp tip. A few days ago, though, I noticed that it was quite dark in colour (haven't looked at it in a while).

So my question would be - what is this small sharp thing in my gum? Tooth shard? Calculus? Would really like some help here, because I'm starting to get really worried.

It could be anything. I am surprised to know you havent got it checked by your dentist for such a long time and also that no one observed it and mentioned it to you. It is advisable that you visit a good dentist and get it checked. If it is something that may cause trouble in the future he will take it out.

Could be a fragment of a baby tooth that was embedded in the gum and recently surfaced. Can't understand why your dentist did not see it if you can.

It is may be a baby tooth. It is strange that your dentist didn't see it. But you should consult with your dentist about it.
If it is black in color then there is something unusual about it.
