Should I get a new retainer?

Good day!:-)

I had braces for two years. I wore my retainer religiously ( day and night) for six months. During my last visit to the dentist, he said my teeth are already perfectly fine but I still have to wear my retainer every night to keep my teeth from moving. I just lost my retainer and I did not inform my dentist about it yet. I think it is not a big deal because my teeth are already aligned. What do you think about this? Should I get a new retainer

Best Regards!

Hi Jameshan!

Yes, you should get a new retainer. Your teeth will eventually move even if they are already perfect now. I've decided to wear mine for a long time at night to keep my teeth from moving.

Hello!

You really need to inform your orthodontist about this and get a new retainer. The teeth move pretty quickly so it is a must to wear retainers religiously.

Yes, get a new retainer and wear it consistently every night for life. If the teeth are not retained, they will tend to move back to their original positions. You do not want to undergo the same treatment again and have the braces on again, right?
