Shaky tooth with braces

User Level:
Patient

I have had braces for a week now and I am noticing that one of my teeth feels shaky. It is like it's going to come out anytime soon. It also feels loose when I bite down. It hurts when I try to shake it more. Is shaking of teeth normal when you are wearing braces? I do not want to lose this tooth as the braces are already on. Please help! I am really worried.

Yes, that is normal for new users of braces. The surrounding bone becomes soft, enabling the teeth to move easily. Do not touch them with your tongue and do not shake them by yourself to avoid any problem.
