i have a permanent upper bridge attached from teeth 12 13 14 on left and 3 4 5 on right the bridge is about 10 yrs old i have had constant problems with abscess and infection in teeth 13 and 14 for past 2 years my dentist had finally convinced me to just have 13 and 14 extracted and be done with problem. went to oral surgeon and was put to sleep to have extractions done. it have been a week now and from looking in my mouth i have realized that i guess the tooth broke and part of the teeth are still in my mouth the surgeon never told me that this happened. is this normal.
because in my logical thinking my constant problem with infection is always from my roots so if the roots are still there than my problem is still there and why would he not just finish removing the roots while i was sedated? please help

Really doubt these are roots. The surgeon would have told you if he had to leave roots. They are probably pieces of bone working their way through the surface. This is fairly common after extracting teeth in older individuals and it doesn't mean your surgeon did anything wrong.

Probably it it is not a root there, rather the bone is what you feel.

After removing a tooth sometimes one can feel like some part of it is still there, but it's the bone what they realize.

The best solution for you to calm down is to going back to your dentist for a controll.
