Root canal or extraction?

Hello!

My dentist performed a root canal on my first molar three days ago. The procedure was not finished because I had too much bleeding and I was in terrible pain. He said I had an infection and I need to take antibiotics for 7 days then he will be sending me to a root canal specialist to finish the procedure. I fear going back to finish it. I have been in so much pain and I now have a swollen face. I am considering extraction instead. Can anybody give me some advise on this? Should I go back and finish the root canal or have the tooth extracted?

I would be very grateful for any help you could give me.

Hi!

It would be best to finish the root canal treatment and get a crown put in after. For me, extraction should always be the last resort. I would try all the possible options to save my teeth because I value my teeth so much.

For me, the best course of treatment would be a root canal and a crown. These will prevent other issue that will arise in the future.
