I had a root canal done a month ago and now i have pain when i bite down. this pain is there until i bite then it goes away. sometimes its a slight pain Other times a sharp pain. i thought it might have been another tooth cause i need more work done but i can push on the side of the tooth ( has a crown already, everything is finished) and theres some pain. not a lot but some when all others are fine. I had mine done in mexico by a long time dentist who has done sooo many of my friends work and they never had a problem. I really dont think my problem is because i went out of the states to have the work done.I have read online many who have almost the same problems, but a little different than mine. what could be the problem or is there one at all? before i had my tooth worked on it had a lot of pain and i couldnt afford $3k for it to be done right then ( root canal and crown ) so the dentist took 2 roots out at that time ( he told me he couldnt find the 3rd ) and then filled it with a temp filling. i had the temp filling for 9 months without pain then it started to chip and i went in for the root canal and crown. If i make any sense someone please help me, ease my mind here on e pain. some days its not there at all, and then others it is. hot or cold doesn't bother it at all.No pain before with temp filling but now with root canal and crown theres biting pain...help!!

Sometimes when you have a first stage root canal treatment it can be very painful afterwards. After root canal treatment it can take up to a few weeks for the tooth to settle down, The only thing you can consider is having the root filling done again. You could consider seeing a specialist endodontist for the treatment.
I would recommend going back and seeing your dentist as he may be able to either redress it or give you a course of antibiotics and pain killers to help with the pain.

Thanks. i dont have BAD pain, just nagging pain when biting down, its nothing i cant handle, i just wanted to make sure this might be a simi normal thing and not something that'll lead into infection or worst. we just had a friend die because he got a root canal done ( in the states ) and something went wrong and he got a infection but didnt know it and it placed him in the hospital cause it got to his brain. i know this is very rare but it makes you scared. thanks again.
