Repeat Root Canal? Antibiotics? Both?

I had a root canal done, roughly three months ago.
I had medication in the tooth for about 3 days prior to the procedure, and then was put on about a week course of antibiotics. I've not had any feeling in that tooth for some time now. However, a few days ago, it started feeling as though it was numb and my gums are tender and swollen around the area. I'm thinking I have an infection... again.

Is it possible for this to just be treated with antibiotics? As I don't really have any feeling in the tooth, could a repeat root canal possibly be required?

Root canal may be failing. Alternate possibility is tooth has fractured. You need to return to the treating dentist for re-eavluation.
