Recurring dry socket pain

User Level:
Patient
Posted by: Mandy2011  (8 years ago)

Hello,

Eight days ago, I had my four wisdom teeth removed. Two days later, I was vomiting from the medication. The next day, I started to have pain and an awful taste in my mouth. The pain becomes worse as days go by so after two more days, I went back to the oral surgeon. The oral surgeon said I have two dry sockets on top and an infection as well. He packed the socket with clove dry socket paste and sent me home. After three days, most of the packing stuff came out and the pain started to come back. When I called the dentist, he said he will re-pack it once more but this would be the last time he will do it for me because the area will not heal if it will be packed always. Is this correct? I will meet my dentist tomorrow to have the area repacked. I am afraid that the pain will come back once the new packing will fall out again. Dry socket pain is really terrible! What should I do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
