Premolar extractions

Hello everyone,

My upper left second molar has been sensitive around the gum line. I went to the dentist yesterday to have it looked at. He said the gum had receded and based from the x-ray, there is decay between the first and second premolar. The dentist said a root canal would be needed. I am not in a good financial position right now. I am not in any pain with the teeth. What I am planning to do now is to wait for the teeth to come off on their own and get dentures later. Maybe I can still have the teeth for a few years as the decay is not so severe. If I will lose the teeth would it cause me any problem in the future? Any help/ advice would be great.

At least get a temporary filling or something. You might land in the hospital with an infection.

I am wondering: if you do not have the money for a root canal, how do you think you will come up with the money for full mouth extractions, bone contouring, and dentures? That is at least $8000 in most parts of the country. Saving your teeth is a whole lot cheaper. You never know if you will be able to wear dentures. Many patients cannot.
