Painful tongue?

Hello all,

About three days ago, my tongue started to hurt really badly. When I checked it in the mirror, I saw a formation that looked like a pimple on the bottom of my tongue. It has a white tip. It is difficult for me to eat. Any ideas what could this be? Are there any home remedies that might help? Thanks!

Hi Althea! It sounds very much like mouth ulcer. This can be caused by physical abrasion, acidic fruit, infection, allergy, medications or other medical conditions. It can be very painful. Adequate oral hygiene, warm salt water rinses
or rubbing garlic on the sore area may help to cure mouth ulcer. If your ulcer remains longer than three weeks, consult a medical practitioner.
