Pain two weeks after the extraction of a wisdom tooth

Two weeks ago tomorrow, my right lower jaw wisdom tooth was pulled as it was purulent and causing severe pain. As I said, the tooth was pulled. The purulence in the jaw was scraped out with a spoon and stitching was not necessary. According to the dentist, there was no antibiosis either, because the cause of the inflammation was removed. In the first few days, the pain was moderate and then it more or less disappeared.

However, for the last two days, I’ve somehow had tormenting pain in the jaw and maybe also in the upper jaw (?!), although the wound itself does not really hurt. At the bottom of the hole, there is a yellowish substance (is this normal? purulence?) with a smooth surface; whether the blood clot was there first, I don’t know. Scraps of food get caught in it, which I try to rinse out as best I can.

Now I’m asking myself what this pain could mean and whether it has more to do with the wound (inflammation, alveolitis) or whether the jaw joint/chewing muscles might possibly be affected by unbalanced chewing.

I would very much appreciate some advice!

Kind regards,
