Pain, nasty taste and gross breath

I had my first ever tooth extraction three days ago. I still feel very sore from the needles and extractions. I’m following all the instructions from my dentist to avoid dry socket. Today, I woke with a nasty taste in my mouth and my breath has turned so foul. How long will I be in pain? Are the gross breath and nasty taste temporary? Any information would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah, it is pretty normal to have foul breath for a few days. Pain usually diminishes after a couple of days. Take heart, it will get better.
