i had a root canal fail in January on tooth #19 and went in and had it redone on jan 24th. the crown that was on the tooth broke so i had to have a new one made for that tooth The endodontist who did the root canal just put a temp filling in that tooth. i went back to my regular dentist on Feb 21st to have the build up done and have a temp crown put on that tooth. Everything was fine with no pain until a few days before I had the permanent crown installed which was on mar 12th. I told them of the pain and they said that the temp crown was just a little to high. for the past week I have had pain in the gums under that tooth. I went in today and they marked and adjusted the crown, The dentist said that the pain was from bruising under the tooth. My question is, is that normal and how long would that take to heal? Should I be worried that the root canal is failing again?

No, it is not normal. You should go back to the endodontist who redid your root canal to see if it is failing. The most likely explanation is the tooth cracked during the retreatment. Howevever, there are many other explanations possible.
