Pain at bottom of tooth

User Level:
Posted by: nenetsky  (10 years ago)

Recently, I noticed that my lower front tooth hurts when I drink something cold or when I breath in cold air. When I touch the part where the gum and tooth meet, it's very sensitive. Does anyone know what could this be? I never had any cavity all my life and I am scared of root canals. Please help!

I would appreciate your inputs.

Hello Nenetsky!

Tooth sensitivity to cold can be due to some exposed tooth root. You can ask your dentist for some medicine which can be applied to the area to make it less sensitive.

Hi Nenet!

If there is a pain after you eat something hot or cold, it's likely that the tooth is fractured or has a deep decay. See your dentist as soon as possible.
