Pain after an implant

Hello Doc!

I got my premolar extracted two weeks ago and had an implant later. Everything went fine with the extraction. My problem is the tooth in front of the implant. It hurts so bad. It's kinda sensitive to hot and cold. It hurts when I touch it with my tongue. Does the implant have something to do with this? What should I do?

Thank you for your time answering.

Hi norms!

It could be that your neighbouring tooth was damaged during the implantation – this can be easily verified with a simple x-ray.

It could also be due to a sensitive tooth neck resulting from the tooth extraction.

Ideally you should talk with your surgeon about it, or just fire up the x-ray machine – that should shed more light on what the problem is!

All the best!

Thanks for your insights Doc!

The oral surgeon found out that the neighboring tooth has caries. I will get a filling next week. The gum tissue was inflamed too.
