Numbing and burning feeling

Three months ago, I had crown prep work done and a filling in my bottom right first molar. After a day, I noticed that my numbness did not go away completely. As days went by, I felt that my lips were burning. My upper lip was somewhat numb. I also have a bitter taste and pasty feeling in my tongue. I went to the dentist about this problem and he did not think that the dental work I had have caused these. Can someone please help me figure this out? Where will I go from here? Thank you in advance.

Gosh, you got me. Numbness of the lower lip sometimes occurs after a lower injection, but I have no explanation why your upper lip might be numb as well. It does not make sense. You may have to consult a neurologist, as your symptoms would have to be traced to a nerve ganglion. I don't see how dental treatment could have caused this.
