Night guard changed my bite

Hello everyone!

I grind my teeth at night and I have been given a night guard. I've been wearing it for a couple of months now and I noticed that my bite feels very off. My upper and lower front teeth are getting farther apart. They no longer fit together which makes biting down food difficult. The night guard
is causing my bite to change. Is this common? Should I give up wearing it to prevent my lower and upper teeth from separating? I would appreciate your replies.

Hello!

Talk to your dentist about your night guard. There might be a problem with it.

Hello!

Stop wearing your night guard for a while. Ask your dentist for a new night guard that will allow all the teeth to touch evenly on it.
