New braces again?

Dear all,

I wore braces four years ago. The result was great; my teeth were perfectly aligned. The orthodontist gave me plastic retainer on top and permanent wire retainer at the bottom. Two years later, I stopped wearing my top retainer and then I lost it. After several months, I noticed a gap that formed between my two upper front teeth. Since I was overseas at that time, I went to a new orthodontist. He made a plastic retainer with a wire on it and attached two hooks, which would pull the two front teeth together. This resulted to one of my front teeth going upwards. I reported this to the orthodontist. He said I would have to wear braces again.

Is there no other remedy for this besides braces? One of the two front teeth needs to be brought down because the other one is now shorter than the other. Please help. I was so tired of braces. Thanks in advance for your time.

Hello,
It is hard to evaluate and give you advice over the interned without seeing or examining your radiographs. Did you contact the orthodontist who originally treated you? Correcting the two front teeth won't require as much time and you can inquire about invisalign to see if it can help correct the length distortion of your front teeth.

Unfortunately orthodontic treatment provides great results but teeth tend to relapse and wont stay the same way as the day braces come off. You can also inquire about lingual braces.
Other wise there no other way to really align you teeth without having to cut them to make them the same height or build the other one .
