Neighboring teeth hurt after a molar extraction

My molar was extracted last Monday. Now the teeth beside it on both sides (left and right) are very sensitive to temperature. I can also feel a slight pain from those teeth. I am thinking that maybe, the infection has spread to the neighboring teeth or it's just caused by the pressure exerted during the extraction. Any advice on what should I do? I do not want to lose these teeth like what happened to my molar. I look forward for your answers.

Dear brilliantmom!
It could be an infection, or just due to sensitive tooth necks.
Ideally you should visit your dentist to have the wound looked at. Pain due to hot and cold, and air usually mean a tooth neck sensitivity issue; this can be easily sealed and the pain is gone!

Hi Doc!
Many thanks for the reply. It turned out the adjacent teeth have cavities. I will get them filled in a couple of days.
