Missing lateral incisor

Hello!

It’s been more than a year when my son lost his upper right lateral incisor. It fell out naturally. However, the permanent replacement has not come in yet. When I looked up the gap where the lateral incisor would be, it seemed there is enough room for it to come in. I was thinking that the tooth was just sitting there in his gum and would never come down. Am I right? Or is this still normal? Please advise!

Take him to a dentist and have him x-rays. Some children are missing upper lateral incisors. Other times they are blocked out due to unusual position or lack of space. No one on this forum has any idea without seeing x-rays.
