Misaligned bite?

I've had upper right jaw pain for about 3 weeks now, it was put down to an ear infection by GP and it did get better with antibiotics but has now returned! My teeth feel as thought they have shifted. I am wondering if its anything to do with the fact that as a child my front bottom teeth were in front of the top ones? I had a brace to push the top ones out but I wonder if my bottom jaw isn't where it should be? Maybe I'm clutching at straws, I've been to the dentist and he can find no problem with my teeth! I just want the pain to go away! Any ideas?

If it were jaw joint pain, it would not have disappeared with antibiotics. It may have been that you had an ear infection, but also had TMD.

Your dentist can test this by prescribing a muscle relaxant. If it lessens the pain, your problem may be TMD. It can be helped by a physical therapist and/or bite splints.

The antibiotics alone are a huge clue that is not an alignment issue. Maybe check with an ENT to have them weigh-in on the situation, it may not be dental in nature. Cheers!
