Metal versus Ceramic Braces

I am 20 years old and I am getting braces for the first time. As much as possible I do not want to have them but my dentist said I need them so badly so I have no choice but to have them. I am not sure what to get. I am considering the ceramic ones as I want them to be less noticeable. However, I've heard stories of how ceramic ligatures stain easily. My sister had ceramics which really look gross. Any advice, please? Thank you!

Hi loyalist,

I'd go for the metal braces because they are more durable. Ceramic braces are less noticeable, but they can be more expensive than metal braces. They're also not as strong, so depending on how much work you need done, ceramic may not be a good choice. Good luck:-)

I used to work for an orthodontist and the ceramic braces kept breaking with any strain so the treatment took alot longer. I'd go with metal and a shorter treatment time. Ceramic were also more expensive than metal.

I would go for the ceramic ones. They make your mouth look better and cleaner. Also, you will not have to deal with cuts and sores in your mouth with them.
