Lump after wisdom teeth extraction

User Level:
Patient
Posted by: Albie56  (9 years ago)
Six days ago, I had all few of my wisdom teeth removed. After the procedure, the pain was horrible and my face was very swollen. The painkillers did not help much. I went back to the oral surgeon to report about the pain but he told me everything was healing fine. Two days ago, I noticed a lump on my lower right jawbone. It hurts to touch. I can’t open my mouth wide enough. I can’t brush and floss my teeth because of this lump. Is this something I should be worried about? Please help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You may have a postoperative infection which may require antibiotics or further treatment. Return to your surgeon for evaluation.
