Juvederm Gum Injections by DDS?

User Level:

Dear Dentists:

Please explain about DDS injection of Juvederm (filler?) into Gums? Is there still a good blood supply after? If it works (to fill-in Gum gaps), how long before procedure likely needs repeating?

Any recommendations or precautions you advise?

Where can patients learn more (about DDS use, to help "bulk up" recessed Gums with wider inter-dental gaps/"dark triangles")?

Thanks for your professional replies, when able.

Juvederm injection is treatments are being administered to pump up the gums so that the size of the little gaps shrink, making them becomes less noticeable. It is nonsurgical treatment and requires minimal recovery or downtime. After the treatment, some temporary injection-related reactions may occur, including redness, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps which can clear up in 7 days. It is advisable to avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages for first 24 hrs. of treatment.
