Dear everyone,

I have had a root canal on one of my lower molars about 5 years ago. About a year ago, that tooth had started to bother me on and off. It would give a dull pain and the gums would swell up a bit. I would take some antibiotics and it would be settled.

Two weeks ago, the pain was terrible. I immediately went to the dentist. The dentist couldn't see anything wrong on the x-ray. He suspected infection and gave me stronger antibiotics. I took it religiously and it settled down. However, last night, I got achy and I woke up today with a fever. My face had swelled to the eye. I feel very very dizzy. The pain is going from my tooth, into my lower jaw, cheek and to my ear. Is it time for the tooth to go? I do not want this tooth to go. :-( I can't go to the dentist yet because I just feel so sick. I took penicillin but I am not getting any better. What should I do? I can't eat, I have no appetite. I would be very grateful for any help you can give me!
