Is it necessary to have another deep cleaning?

Hello Checkdent Doctors!

About ten months ago, I had a deep cleaning done on my teeth. I've relocated three months ago due to my work and my old dentist is far from my location so I decided to see a new dentist for my regular dental routine check-up. The new dentist recommended a deep cleaning again. Is this necessary? The new dentist has not seen my dental records yet. I brush and floss regularly. I visit my dentist (the old one) every four months. For someone who takes good care of their teeth, and see their dentist regularly, is it necessary to have another deep cleaning? Please advice me. I am a little bit frustrated with the new dentist. Thanks!

Hello fotograf!

There are two ways to be wrong; ignore the truth or believe in falsehood. Now who is right and who is wrong and if a deep cleaning is really necessary is difficult to say over the web.

I would have a look at the video “What is Periodontitis?” and then find a periodontist in your area; make your decision after you have heard what s/he has to say.

All the best!
