I have a post on tooth #9, which was broken. I opted to have the tooth extracted and get an implant to replace it. Three months after the extraction, I went back to the dentist for the implant procedure. After taking X-rays, he said I would need a bone graft for the implant. He also said that it would be better if I’ll get a bridge instead, as the tooth beside it is already crowned. What do you think? Is a bone graft always needed for an implant? Should I go for the bridge as suggested by the dentist? Please advise. Thanks!

Wow, an anterior implant should have been done at the time of extraction. Now you have lost must valuable bone and gums. An implant is still possible, but it will be much more complicated. I try to avoid bridges unless the adjacent teeth need crowns anyway, or have already been cut down for crowns.
