I'm still in pain!

I had a crown put on a tooth December 2009, after my dentist took out an old filing and put in a new one. I moved so I am now with a new dentist. August, 2011 the tooth startedhurting and also the gum in between. I went to the new dentist, he said I needed a root canal. Went to the endodontist and received root canal through the crown. It kept hurting, so the dentist did a couple of minor adjustments on the tooth. After several trips, muscle relaxers and a bite guard I bought from target, the pain stopped. Two weeks ago, it started again. The pain is still in the same area, also in my jaw. The dentist removed the crown, reshaped a couple of teeth and put on a temporary crown. I still have pain, I'm afraid it will never end. I'm actually worried and financially drained! He is suppose to put the permanent crown on in 2 days! I am so frustrated!

Things can be very difficult at times. Making a definitive diagnosis at times is tough. Often we have to take the information given and do our best. Also at times there can be more than one problem causing the pain and fixing one problem may not completely resolve issues. Best thing you can do is have a good history of the pain, what causes the pain, when, how long, is there anything you can do to reproduce the pain? Good luck.
