How to stop my "gum picking" habit?

Hi there!

I have a habit of picking at my gums until they bleed. I use a toothpick or anything hard to shove the space in between my teeth. I think I started this habit when I was stressed with school. It feels good to scratch the gums especially when they are itchy.

I can't seem to quit no matter what I do. What should I do to stop this? Please help!

I would really appreciate your tips and suggestions!

Hi Western,

It's all down to willpower. Try not to stress yourself. Chewing gum may help in diverting your attention from it.

I exactly do the same thing. For now, what I am doing to get rid of this is to numb my gums with ice so I cannot feel them at all.
