How to keep dental restorations to last long?

Dear all,

I suffer anxiety and depression and have neglected my oral hygiene. Most of my teeth are rotting and painful. I also have dry mouth. I was in a lot of pain, had suffered infections and sensitivity.

A few months ago, I have started to focus on my mouth. I went to the dentist and had multiple root canals, crowns and several fillings. I wish I would have taken better care of my teeth. I have appointments with the dentist to continue my dental treatment. The dentist warned me that I may lose all my teeth in the future because they are badly rotten and he cannot guarantee that the dental works I have had will last that long. He also told me that my crowns may fail because of decay along the margins.

Kindly give me some tips and advice on how to keep whatever restorations I have in my mouth for as long as possible. In case they will fail, what other restorations I may resort to rather than to have my teeth extracted?

Thank you in advance for your answers.
